Apex Sheds FAQ’s

What is an apex shed?

An apex shed is a type of traditional shed, with 4 sides and a sloped roof. An apex shed roof is made from 2 sloping panels which slide away from the door of the shed, creating more space inside. Apex sheds are a good option for those looking for more headroom in a shed, or for those looking for a traditional shed design.

How to felt an apex shed roof?

Our apex sheds come supplied with felt. Leaving a 50mm overhang, fix the felt to each sloping panel using nails. Using a thinner piece of felt, overlap each panel by 150mm, covering the apex at the highest point, along the full length of the roof of the shed. Use felt adhesive as well as nails to ensure the seal is secure.

Are apex sheds or pent sheds better?

Both apex and pent sheds have been designed to allow for rainwater runoff in order to protect and maintain the longevity of the shed, by preventing rot and decay to the wood. The main difference between an apex shed and a pent shed is the appearance, so it is down to personal preference.

Do you need planning permission for an apex shed?

No, you will not need planning permission for an apex shed in your garden. Our range of corner apex sheds have been designed to pass planning permission regulations, with roof overhangs and ridge height in line with regulations.
